PackMate Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 12, 2026
PackMate is a shared packing checklist app for trips, camping, and group travel.
Information We Collect
- Account profile information from Apple or Google sign-in, such as display name, email address, and provider identifier.
- Trip information you create, including trip names, dates, invite codes, members, packing items, notes, quantities, and item claims.
- Optional profile settings, such as nickname and a compressed profile photo.
- Reports and blocks submitted through member safety controls.
- Device tokens if push notifications are enabled.
- Crash and basic analytics data used to improve app reliability.
How We Use Information
We use this information to sign you in, sync shared trip lists, show current profiles and claims, process invite codes, provide safety controls, send enabled notifications, improve stability, and protect the service.
Sharing
Trip members can see shared trip data, member names, item notes, and claims within trips they belong to. A signed-in user can retrieve a specific public nickname and thumbnail by user identifier, but public-profile collection listing is not allowed. Invite lookup requires an exact, unexpired code. We do not sell personal information.
Storage and Security
PackMate uses Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, and App Check. Firestore security rules restrict trip access to members, prevent invite enumeration, and restrict user-owned writes.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account in the Account tab or use the public request process on the PackMate Support page if you cannot access the app. PackMate removes your public profile and compressed photo, device tokens, reports, blocks, trips you own and their items and invites, your claims, your shared-trip membership, and your Firebase Authentication account. Content created by other members in trips they own remains.
A private deletion tombstone containing only the account user identifier, deletion state, and timestamps may be retained indefinitely to prevent a deleted session from recreating data and to allow an interrupted deletion to be retried safely. It contains no name, email address, or photo and is not visible to other users.
Children
PackMate is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
